We won the Prix St. George's class!!! It was a huge class (29 horses) and very competitive.
It was not without drama. I rode midway in the class. d'Artagnan had warmed up supple and super on my aids.
We had two mistakes in the test. My last change in the 4's was a 3. During the extended canter, d' swapped leads behind.
All else felt great. We got a report back that I was leading the class, but there were still four scores to be posted.
The blood drained out of my head. I was glad there was a wall behind me to lean back against. We all held our breaths waiting.
The management was trying to find the last two tests that were missing. They finally found them. The last horse to go
(I was told he had a magnificent test) Heidi Storm Graham on Olympus were awarded a score of 67.125%. d'Artagnan and I had a 68.275%.
Our aisleway erupted in a storm of hoots and tears.
It is a moment I will relive in my mind forever. Definitely a highlight in my life!!!! Thanks to all of you for all your wishes of good luck ..... it worked!
