Liz and her filly Glacier (aka Lacie) worked with Lynn this
summer to learn how to long line, and in September, began working under
saddle (with Lynn's guidance). A month after they started her, Liz hauled
her over to Lucile , her breeder, at honey Locust Farm, and showed off
Lacie's paces! Two months later, the pair participated in a "Spook Clinic"
with Linda Hoover, over at Dawn Weniger's Firstview Farm. Lacie walked
over tarps, a mattress, even flares!
When I started riding with Lynn in 2005, I told her I would never NEVER show. But my Trakehner mare Magda and I rode Training Level test 1 in Asheville in August and scored a 65%. The highlight of our year however was Fenridge, in November, where we scored 71% at Training test 4, and placed first! |

| Mary Von Werne and Intact | |
|
|
|
"Intact passed away in June of 2007 from colic. He was a once in a lifetime horse and
I will always miss him. Not only will I miss him as a teacher and competition partner,
I will miss him as a friend. He was always there to put a smile on my face and my barn
is really not the same without him. I will never find a horse to replace him and I just
consider myself lucky to have had him for the short time that I did. He gave me so much
knowledge and a passion for dressage that I never had before I met him. I have other horses
that mean a lot to me, but Intact will always have a special place in my heart. Words can't
really describe how it feels to have a special bond with a horse, but that is what I had with
him. I loved him, and miss him greatly." ~Mary Von Werne |
