Terry Sosa on Doublet

Terry, an adult amateur, heads the U.S. Operations for Biostatistics at Quintiles in Raleigh, NC. She also manages her four-year old daughter, Robyn, who loves homework, swimming, and gymnastics - but has not yet shown any sign of "horse fever". Neither has Terry’s husband, Jeff, who prefers adventure races and triathlons.

Terry has been riding with Lynn for over 12 years, and competed at the lower levels until about five years ago. In 2004, Terry bought Doublet, an 18-year old Thoroughbred/Hanoverian schoolmaster, who was trained and shown through Grand Prix by Cathy Morelli. Doublet resides in full training at North Star Training Center.

In 2005, Terry made her debut at Prix St. Georges at the CDI-Raleigh, earning a 68.5% and her USDF Silver Medal.

In 2006, Terry and Doublet earned the USDF amateur adult national rankings of 5th at Intermediaire 1 and 17th at Prix St. Georges.

In the spring of 2008, the pair competed at Grand Prix, earning scores of 59% and 57.3%. Unfortunately, soon thereafter, Doublet was sidelined with an injury. By the end of the year, Terry was back in the saddle, slowly bringing Doublet back to work. She is looking forward to getting back into the show ring in 2009 to earn the final two scores for her USDF Gold Medal!

Donna Christopher and Landor
Donna Christopher has been a student of Lynn’s for almost fifteen years. When she is not riding, Donna manages three daughters, several horses, ponies, cats, dogs, and one husband at her home in Bahama, as well as two hundred or so employees at Almac Ltd. in Durham, NC.
Donna is also the proud new owner of Landor, a 13-year old Oldenburg gelding. She reports that Landor holds his ears sideways and takes a snooze whenever he can. Landor resides at Donna's home in Bahama and the pair trailers to North Star Training Center for lessons.
In May of 2009, Donna and Landor made their show ring debut at the NCDCTA Capital Dressage Classic in Raleigh, NC, scoring a clean sweep and taking home three blue ribbons at First Level test 2.

Meredith Weiner on Rico

Meredith is a Registered Nurse at UNC Hospitals, working for Vascular Surgery as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Vein Center. She lives with her husband, Tim, on a 70-acre farm in Siler City, where they enjoy their life with eight dogs, 22 chickens, and a bunch of cows.

Meredith has trained and competed her Hessen gelding, Rico, successfully through Prix St. Georges, winning many awards, national rankings, and a trip to Devon. However, during that time, Meredith observed that her winning rides didn’t always "feel" good. In contrast, she noticed that Lynn made it look easy at the shows, her horse always looked happy, and her students were successful. So, in the summer of ’08, Meredith moved Rico to North Star Training Center and began training with Lynn.

In 2009, after a three-year hiatus from the show ring, Meredith and Rico rode down centerline at the NCDCTA Capital Dressage Classic in Raleigh, NC, and won 1st place at Fourth Level test 1 with a score of 63%.

According to Carla, Shamrock "deserves a big round of applause for being a safe, sane, solid citizen that tries his heart out for me at every show and in any environment. He is a great soul that will never be replaced. He has taught me so much and given me confidence that I have never had as a rider. He is my buddy and will forever be cherished by me as a great teacher."

At the BLM Championships, Derrick continued to impress. He put in a lovely test for a 70% in his Training Level Championship class, and finished sixth out of 30 horses.
